Must have the ability to manage multiple task simultaneously.

Effective communication and human relation skills.

Computer experience and word processing preferred.

Knowledge of office procedures and medical terminology.

Supervisory/management skills preferred.

One year medical office or hospital laboratory secretarial experience.

Qualifications you will need for this role:

Assists with laboratory accreditation inspection preparations.

Assists with supply ordering, receipt, storage and inventory of supplies.

Maintains necessary legal documentation.

Maintains reports, prepares send out documentation and monitors result receipt.

Answer the department telephone and direct calls to the appropriate person for response.

Maintain slide filing, prepare tumor conferences, maintain laboratory records, maintain pathology equipment and logs.

Accurately accession/Log all cases into the Lab Information System.

Receive and verify patient information on all paperwork and specimen containers for accuracy.

You will assist in the completion of departmental assignments.

You will oversee office supply inventory.

You will provides clerical support for the Pathologists and Laboratory Director.

You will provide customer service and interacts with physicians, hospital directors, laboratory staff, hospital staff, as well as patients and families as indicated.

You will maintain a competent level of performance and provide quality service for the secretarial and clerical duties for the Pathology Department.

You will have primary responsibility for the efficient organization and effectiveness of the Pathology Department.
